A small team. A deliberate product. A standard infrastructure in the making.

Primitiv is a Paris-based team of engineers, designers, and operators building what we believe software development will look like once AI stops being an assistant and starts being infrastructure.

§01 · Origin

Why Primitiv exists.

We spent a decade watching software organizations solve the same problem in two thousand different ways, and then ship AI tooling on top of that chaos without thinking about what happens at scale.

Our thesis is simple: AI is now fast enough to create systems faster than humans can track them. Without a structured layer underneath, organizations end up with three versions of the same tool, none of them owned, and no audit trail for how any of it got built.

Primitiv is the structured layer. It's the operating system that sits between intent and production. Every spec, every build, every deploy, in one place, governed from the start.

§02 · Team

Builders building for builders.

Jean-Baptiste Hubert
Jean-Baptiste Hubert
Co-founder · CEO

Led operations across scale-ups in complex, fast-moving environments. Spends his time turning tangled problems into simple ones, and simple ones into systems.

Gauthier Hubert
Gauthier Hubert
Co-founder · CTO

Building with AI since 2024. Obsessed with what agents can do, and what's left for humans.

§03 · Operating principles

How decisions are made, how work gets done.

  1. 01

    Make requirements less dumb.

Requirements are often the weakest part of any system. Challenge unclear, unnecessary, or poorly defined requirements. Before solving a problem, ensure the problem itself is well defined.

  2. 02

By failing to plan, you are planning to fail.

Execution without planning creates chaos. All meaningful work begins with a structured plan clarifying objectives, constraints, dependencies, and expected outcomes.

  3. 03

    Disagree and commit.

Intellectual disagreement is encouraged. Once a decision is made, the team commits fully. Alignment after decision is essential for speed and effectiveness.

  4. 04

    Know what you don't know.

Clear thinking requires intellectual honesty. Recognize the limits of your knowledge. Surface uncertainty, never hide it. Assumptions must be identified and validated.
